"About our Founder "

Mr. Jacques Merine is a Haiti-born U.S. citizen, who has a tremendous love and compassion for the difficulties of his native land. Many of his family still live in Haiti. Jacques has been diligently spreading the word about the needs of the country since coming to the United States.

He makes trips to Haiti on a regular base, often leading missionary teams from the many churches and non-profit organizations, that have opened their hearts to Haiti's needs. Jacques Merine

"About our Administrator in Haiti "

Mr. Jean Erol Merine is the brother of Jacques Merine, founder of Source of Life Ministries, and is the overseer of the Safe Home. He has been married to Martha for 9 years and together they have three sons. Mr. Merine has a bachelor’s degree in theology from the New Life Theological Seminary in Port Au Prince as well as a diploma in communications and photography. He became vice principal at the most prestigious school in the community of Carrefour, Haiti in 1998 and has been a part of SLM since 1999. His primary role with us has been to manage the children’s education, spiritual and social orientation, and any nutritional needs or healthcare issues they may have. In 2008 he was named the Director of “Bourgeons de la vie” (which in English is translated “Bud of Life”, the Haitian registered name for SLM). The church and school also under the SLM name, which are in Lamondrit, Haiti are part of Jean’s administrative duties to oversee as well. He is a true gift from God and we are especially thankful that he is part of the SLM team!
